Chinese Mountain Roads Anhui driving from poverty to paradise1

We visited friends who are tea farmers in Sanmen Tan, a tiny, isolated village at the foot of Xi Mao Mountain (858m) on the east shore of the Manchuan River.
There’s no road, bridge, or ferry — only villagers' boats connect it to the outside world.

At about 120 meters altitude, the village sits below a dramatic 300m slope and a 400m vertical cliff. The landscape is breathtaking, with intact nature and even eagles soaring above.

Sanmen Tan belongs to one of China's top 10 tea regions, producing the high-end "Hukui" green tea.
The villagers live a simple but happy life, with cars parked across the river for occasional shopping or emergencies. There's only one small shop, no restaurants, and no tourists disturbing the peaceful surroundings.

Many never leave — when their time comes, they rest forever among the tea plantations.
When people dream of paradise, I believe I have now seen it.

Note:
The beginning of the trip was disheartening, passing through neglected villages and poor countryside — but the destination was truly worth it.
