Pear Cake
Ingredients:
500g pears (ripe)
50g sugar
2 eggs
pinch of salt
1 tsp baking powder
100 ml milk
80g flour
25g melted butter
orange zest
1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping before baking:
20g melted butter
1 tbsp light brown sugar

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven (180°C).
2. Peel the pears, remove any seeds, slice them thinly and set aside.
3. In a bowl, combine eggs, salt and sugar. Whisk/beat until the sugar has melted and the mixture is incorporated.
4. Add milk and butter and beat for one minute.
5. Add sifted flour and baking powder. Whisk until combined.
6. Pour vanilla extract, add orange zest and sliced pears and combine well.
7. Transfer the cake batter mixture into a round baking dish. (I use a 7.5 x 2.5 inches cake pan)
8. Add the topping: Pour the melted butter and sprinkle the light brown sugar.
9. Bake for 1 hour.
10. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool down.
11. Transfer the cake to the cake dish, sprinkle dusting sugar, and enjoy it with coffee or tea.
