Today's Video: A Slow Spring Day | Garlic Toast, Lakeside Walk, Stir-Fry Shrimp & Poached Pears | Slow Living Vlog🌼

Hello, my dear friends,🌿
In this vlog, I start the morning by roasting garlic to make a warm and comforting garlic spread for toast. After breakfast, I take a refreshing stroll by the nearby lake to soak in the spring breeze. Back home, I whip up a simple yet flavorful stir-fry shrimp for lunch and finish the day on a sweet note with poached pears. I also show a bit of care for my kitchen tools by oiling my chopping board for some much-needed maintenance.

🧄Spiced Poached Pears🧄
Ingredients:
1 kg Pears (not too ripe)
850 ml water
325g light brown sugar
180 ml rice wine vinegar
6 star anise
2 cinnamon sticks
10 cloves
1/4 tsp cinnamon powder
1/2 tsp cardamon

Chocolate Sauce (for two persons)
100g chocolate
3 tbsp orange juice
1 tbsp orange liqueur

💕Instructions: 💕
1. Peel the pears and cut off the unnecessary part of the base.
2. In the pot, pour water and rice wine vinegar. Add light brown sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, cardamon and cinnamon powder.
Bring to boil
3. Place each pear into the pot, reduce the heat, and let it simmer for 15 to 18 minutes, depending on the size of the pears.
4. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool down while preparing the chocolate sauce
5. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over boiling water and stir until fully melted. Add orange juice and orange liqueur and combine well.
6. Pour the chocolate sauce evenly into two serving dishes, filling each half-and-half
7. Place one pear on each serving dish.
8. Serve with coffee or tea. Enjoy!💕💕💕

💕How to store the spiced poached pears?💕
1. Put all the pears into a sterilized glass jar.
2. Pour the syrup and include all the spices.
3. Store in the fridge and consume within a month.

🥦Stir Fry Shrimp🥦
Ingredients:
400g cooked shrimp
400g broccoli (chopped)
200g bell pepper (chopped 1-inch)
25g ginger (thinly sliced)
1 clove garlic (chopped)
2 tbsp cooking wine or white wine
1 medium-sized white onion (chopped)
3 tbsp olive oil (for stir-frying)
white pepper (to taste)

Sauce Ingredients:
4 tbsp water
3 tbsp oyster sauce
3 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp herb salt or just salt
1 1/2 tsp potato flour or cornstarch

Garnish:
A handful of chopped Coriander and Chives

💕Instructions: 💕
1. Cut the broccoli into smaller pieces and set aside.
2. Remove the unnecessary parts of the bell pepper.
3. Soak the broccoli and bell pepper in water mixed with a bit of vinegar for 3 minutes, then wash again with running water.
3. Cut the bell pepper into smaller pieces, about 1 inch, and set aside.
4. Slice the onion, ginger, and garlic and set aside.
5. Prepare the sauce by mixing all the sauce ingredients in the bowl.
6. Prepare the leeks and coriander by chopping them into small pieces.
7. In a hot pan, drizzle olive oil. Add all vegetables and sauté for 1 minute.
8. Pour the cooking wine and toss well. Add shrimp, sprinkle white pepper, pour the sauce, and cook for 1 minute.
9. Remove the pan from heat and place the stir-fried shrimp in a serving dish. Add all the garnishes and combine well.
10. Serve and enjoy! 💕💕💕
