When we last saw the new build LNER A1 pacific 60163 ‘Tornado’ she was wearing British Railways apple green livery, and still undergoing some tests at the Nene Valley Railway last September. • GREAT MIX OF TRAINS at Peterborough! + 601...
Fast forward to today, and a noticeable change is the livery switch to BR Brunswick Green for the A1, which has been busy operating recent trails with EMTRS equipment on the Cambrian Coast Line to conform to todays modern day digital signalling requirements, and Tornado is now really living up to her name of a 21st Century steam engine! She looked magnificent this morning rolling into Taunton station to the assembled gallery, for a short stop to pick up passengers travelling on the first Railway Touring Company ‘Royal Duchy’ excursion of the 2025 season, bound for Par! | 25.05.2025
