James Fisher talks to Simon Shawcross, founder of HITuni, about the optimal number of sets per exercise in a workout. He recommends performing a single set per exercise taken to momentary muscular failure. Individuals training without the supervision of a personal trainer may well not be able to achieve MMF, in which case a second set may get them closer to it and provide a greater stimulus.
