Ingredients

1 egg
1 cup of sugar
125 g (about 1 stick) softened butter
1 cup vegetable oil
4 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 packet vanilla (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
1 packet baking powder (about 2 teaspoons)
3 cups flour
chocolate 60 gram

Instructions:

1. Make the syrup:
Add the sugar and water to a pot. Bring it to a boil, then lower the heat and let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
Set it aside and let the syrup cool completely.

2. Prepare the dough:
In a mixing bowl, combine the egg, sugar, softened butter, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
Add the cocoa powder, vanilla, and baking powder.
Gradually add the flour and knead until you get a soft, non-sticky dough.

3. Shape the cookies:
Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Gently press the tops to flatten slightly.

4. Bake:
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for about 25 _28 minutes, just until set.
Don’t overbake — they should stay soft.

Melt some chocolate using the double-boiler method.
Add a mix of red and white sprinkles for decoration.

Place a small spoonful of the melted chocolate right in the center of each cookie.
