Retch Guide and Family Fighter Strategies

There are eighteen battle pet bosses on Argus in Patch 7.3. You are ONLY rewarded for fighting an Argus pet boss by doing its World Quest if said world quest is up. Outside of that, you may fight the Argus pet bosses as many times as you like (to work on your Family Fighter achievement, for example) but you won't be seeing pet supplies or any kind of reward from the battle. The Argus pet bosses do not have backline- you fight the one Legendary pet boss and that's it. They all have the Boss ability meaning they take 50% reduced damage and cannot be dealt more than 35% of their health in one hit. Also, many of the Argus Pet Bosses have this Greater Apocalypse that kills your team and ends the fight no matter what after 20 rounds.

Family Fighter is an achievement which requires beating each of the 18 Argus pet bosses with a family specific team of each type. Eighteen bosses and ten families (Beast, Aquatic, Critters, Elemental, Humanoid, Mechanical, Dragonkin, Flying, Magic and Undead) means you'll need to complete 180 pet battles in order to finish Family Fighter in 7.3 and earn your Felclaw Marsuul. The ten achievements you'll need to complete for your Family Fighter Meta Achievement are Beast Blitz, Aquatic Assault, Critical Critters, Elemental Escalation, Humanoid Havoc, Mechanical Melee, Draconic Destruction, Fierce Fliers, Magical Mayhem and Unstoppable Undead.

Retch Beast Strategy - for Beast Blitz Retch I use the P/P breed Zandalari Anklerender/Kneebiter with Black Claw and Hunting Party. For backup use more of the same or Beast pets with Stampede.

Retch Aquatic Strategy - for Aquatic Assault Retch I use Turtles with Bite, Headbutt and Shell Shield with a Claw/Shell Shield crab to back things up.

Retch Critter Strategy - for Critical Critters Retch I use Ebert and a Mulgore Hatchling with Bite/Shell Shield/Trample and a Pint-sized Pink Pachyderm with Trample. Pachyderm can be subbed for any Beast damage critter, although Trample rocks!

Retch Elemental Strategy - for Elemental Escalation Retch I use the Core Hound Pup with Scratch/Howl/Burrow, Tiny Bog Beast with Rampage and the Doom Bloom with Bite.

Retch Humanoid Strategy - for Humanoid Havoc Retch I use a Thistleleaf Adventurer (subbable for a Dandelion Frolicker) with Bite, Barkskin and Dazzling Dance. Second is Kun-lai Runt with Mangle/Thrash and last is Lil Bad Wolf with Claw, Dodge and Howl.

Retch Mechanical Strategy - for Mechanical Melee Retch I use a Deweaponized Mechanical Companion with Thrash and Extra Plating, a Cogblade Raptor with Batter/Screech/Exposed Wounds and a Mechanical Squirrel with Thrash just in case.

Retch Dragonkin Strategy - for Draconic Destruction Retch I use three Chrominiuses (don't judge) with Bite/Howl/Surge of Power. I'm going to keep using these so if you want to follow along just get them. If you're allergic to dogs try Nexus/Stormborne Arcane Storm/Mana Surge but be advised that I haven't tried that.

Retch Flying Strategy - for Fierce Fliers Retch I used a Skyhorn Nestling, Imperial Eagle Chick and some kind of joust bird with Thrash, Adrenaline Rush and Lift-off.

Retch Magic Strategy - for Magical Mayhem Retch I use the Sapphire Cub with Pounce/Screech/Prowl and a Sanctum Cub with Pounce and Dodge. Jade Owl is also very good with Thrash, Adrenaline Rush and Lift-off.

Retch Undead Strategy - for Unstoppable Undead Retch I use an Unborn Val'kyr Shadow Shock / Curse of Doom/ Unholy Ascenscion, and Widget the Departed with Pounce. Risen Saber Kitten is also good here with Screech and Pounce.
