Adjacent to the synagogue the old Mikvah was discovered. In the late 15th century it was filled with dirt . This helped to preserve its structure.
This Magnificent recently restored Mikva (ritual bath)in Speyer was built in the 12 th century. It served as a bath house and ritual pool for the community of Speyer for some four hundred years.
The Riva and Rabbi Shmuel Hachassid among other Tosafists and Chassidei Ashkenaz made use of this Mikva.
