We grabbed ourselves a brand new motorbike from Nang Noi guesthouse here in Pakse, Southern Laos ready to hit the road on a bit of a little motorbike loop. The bike cost us 120k laos kip and couldn't have been any better I really recommend this place the owners were so kind.

On our way out of Pakse town we stopped at a little roadside noodle shop and had some really tasty laos style Pho noodles, we ate with a overly inquisitive cat and laos music absolutely blasting from across the road, the noodles set us back a solid 20k laos kip.

So we set off on our motorbike mission here in southern Laos. Now most people do the bolaven plateau loop in the waterfall/coffee region however we wanted to do things a little differently so we headed south from Pakse.

We stopped by the road to buy some really tasty sticky rice and coconut grilled in bamboo tubes over fire, these were delicious and just what we needed to fuel us for the day ahead.

First main stop was wat Phou - an ancient ruined khmer/hindu temple here in southern laos. Entry was 50k kip each and I was really impressed we climbed up to the top of the hill and got some amazing views over the stunning Laos landscapes. In my opinion so much nicer than angkor wat in cambodia as there is nobody here.

We stopped in a typical little Laos village and had both the cheapest, biggest and best sugar cane juice of my life for a whopping 5k laos kip. I love the village vibes so much its like going back in time here 🇱🇦

We drove through the laos countrysides loving life and came across a nice little church before stopping at a mekong River Viewpoint where locals were making offerings and Merit.

Carried on driving through villages and towns then took our time heading through Champassak taking in all the French colonial architecture and local life.

We really don't need a plan in this country, just riding around seeing locals smiles makes us happy as we could be.

Now here's where it got fun we found a motorbike trail through the rice fields, it was a super bumpy red dirt road but the views were just incredible and the local people so warm and friendly we loved this.

On the way back to Pakse we found a hidden gem of a temple up a huge staircase so we headed up and found heaven looking over the beautiful Mekong River here in Laos. On the way down we met the funniest dog ever that shook my hand.

Rounded the day off with a sunset over the Mekong on the bridge that runs into Pakse city here in southern Laos.

Hope this inspires you to go out and explore on your own missions, forget the motorbike loops everybody tells you that you 'must do' it's aload of rubbish 🇱🇦
