In todays video we explore the second biggest city in all of Laos - Savannakhet 🇱🇦

For some reason savannakhet recieves like no international tourists which is ridiculous as the city has so much to explore.

We start the day off with some khao jee - laos style baguettes, we got one from a famous shop and one from the street they cost us 12k kip and 15k kip. These sandwiches seriously are some of my all time favourites and they never disappoint, I'd say savannakhet has the best in the country for me.

We then went to explore the old French colonial part of savannakhet town which is super cool and reminds me so much of Latin America. I really recommend exploring this area its brimming with character and falling to pieces! Also so much good local food around here!

Went for a walk down the Mekong riverfront with thailand just across the other side! It's so peaceful here we just relaxed, checked out the huge white naga statue and then met the kindest lao people ever who had some super cute puppies they let us play with.

Oh and we also got some refreshing coconut ice creams for 3k laos kip each!

Near where we are staying there's a vietnamese coffee shop we've been going to everyday that does the very best vietnamese coffee (my favourite type of coffee ever) they only cost 8k laos kip which is just ridiculous you can see why we keep going back here.

Our hotel we stayed in whilst in savannakhet was called 'Leena Guesthouse' and it cost us a whopping £2.90 for a double room with private bathroom - that is absolutely crazy the cheapest hotel we have ever stayed in without a doubt!!

Walking through the streets a young man invited us over to see his roosters and he showed us laos favourite national sport in action! We love it.

Walking around this city is a pure joy there's so many alleys to explore and interesting things to find honestly.

The sun set and we headed off out into savannakhet Town for some delicious lao food. I ended up getting a made in laos durian ice cream for 10k laos kip, 2 easy stir fry dishes for 20k laos kip each and our favourite southeast Asian dessert for 15k laos kip.

That was all from our day here in savannakhet, I have no idea why tourists don't visit this city its extremely underrated 🇱🇦
