March can be a busy time of year for home vegetable gardeners. Here are some tips to help stay on track in March. Here are some important dates to remember for central Kentucky.

March 8th: Start seeds outdoors for spinach, mustard, beets, peas, and edible-podded peas.

March 15th: Transplant cabbage and kohlrabi plants to the garden.

March 15th: Start seeds outdoors for asparagus and rhubarb crowns, beets, carrots, collards, kale, mustard, spinach, peas, edible-podded peas, early potato seed pieces, radishes, turnips, green onions, onion sets, and endive.

March 15th: Start seeds indoors for peppers, tomatoes, and eggplant.

March 15th: Dig and divide any 4-year-old rhubarb plants. Fertilize asparagus and rhubarb with 1 pound of 5-10-10 per 100 sq ft.
