The Tranquil State of a Garden Villa Floating Over a Rainy Pond | Ollie Odyssey Japan Vol. 5

Описание: Exploring many different parts of Fukui Prefecture in only a few days meant less time I got to spend in Fukui city. I did get a chance to walk around the city on the first night and after returning from the day trip to the ruins and monastery, I set some time aside to make it to Yokokan Garden an hour before it closed.

By the time I arrived, rain started to come down. The little drops of water hitting on the garden's tree leaves gave a peaceful feeling as I walked through the small paths to admire the beautiful landscaped sections. Across at the other end of the pond, I see the lovely villa that looks as if it's floating above the water. Looking at the little signs, I noticed that visitors are allowed to enter the villa and walk around inside. The tatami mats and warm lantern lights soaked into my soul as I admired the open air pane views looking out at the koi-filled pond. The custodian inside was wrapping up and encouraged me to check out a couple rooms I missed, which made me feel extra welcomed. There was only 5 minutes and they didn't make me feel rushed. I'm wondering if it has many visitors in general (I only saw one other person), but I guess on a rainy day right before closing, one doesn't expect too many people. I do prefer a less crowded visit, so I was happy.
