雪谷位於黑龍江省五常市山河屯林業局大河身森林經營所施業區內，距哈爾濱市248公裡，東南與中國雪鄉接壤，北與葦河林業局交界，總面積14,678公頃。景區以海拔1691米的龍江第一峰大禿頂子山為核心，拉林河支流牤牛河發源於此，冬季平均雪深超2米，雪期最長可達7個月。

雪谷又名東升林場，它與雪鄉(雙峰林場)只隔著一座羊草山，通常從雪谷到雪鄉的徒步穿越路線指的就是翻越羊草山。不少驢友去過雪谷和雪鄉後卻偏愛雪谷，因為目前為止雪谷還未被深度商業化，因而更為純樸與原生態。

雪谷是個小山村，不用一個小時就能逛完了。驅車進入小村後，在村子左手邊有個小山坡，過一座橋即可走到，這里能俯瞰整個村子。傍晚時雪谷的景色最為迷人，夕陽西下、炊煙裊裊的畫面，還原了東北最原始的村莊景象，如同一幅中國水墨畫。

After successfully completing the first phase of my Northeast Ice and Snow Tour, a 7-day trip to Harbin, I took a 5-hour bus ride from Harbin to the Snow Valley Scenic Area within the Gaosheng Forest Farm in Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province. Around 1 PM, I arrived at my pre-booked guesthouse in Gaosheng. After lunch, I strolled through the villages near the guesthouse. After dinner, I noticed a light snowfall, so I went to the detached house behind the guesthouse and its small garden. Bathed in the golden light of the garden's lamps, the fluffy white snow looked exceptionally bright and sparkling. Combined with the thick snow-capped artificial mushrooms in the garden, it felt like a scene from a fairy tale, utterly enchanting.

Snow Valley is located within the operational area of ​​the Daheshen Forest Management Station of the Shanhetun Forestry Bureau in Wuchang City, Heilongjiang Province, 248 kilometers from Harbin. It borders China Snow Town to the southeast and the Weihe Forestry Bureau to the north, covering a total area of ​​14,678 hectares. The scenic area centers around Datudingzi Mountain, the highest peak in Heilongjiang Province at 1691 meters above sea level. The Mangniu River, a tributary of the Lalin River, originates here. In winter, the average snow depth exceeds 2 meters, and the snow season can last up to 7 months.

Xuegu (Snow Valley), also known as Dongsheng Forest Farm, is separated from Xuexiang (Shuangfeng Forest Farm) by only Yangcaoshan Mountain. The hiking route from Xuegu to Xuexiang usually refers to crossing Yangcaoshan. Many hikers who have visited both Xuegu and Xuexiang prefer Xuegu because it has not yet been heavily commercialized, thus remaining more pristine and untouched.

Xuegu is a small mountain village that can be explored in less than an hour. After driving into the village, there is a small hill on the left side of the village; cross a bridge to reach it, where you can overlook the entire village. Xuegu is most enchanting at dusk, with the setting sun and rising smoke recreating the most primitive village scene in Northeast China, like a Chinese ink painting.
