Taking the bus from Diejing Road to South China University of Technology (Wushan Campus). Route: Guangzhou Avenue South — Huacheng Avenue — Xiancun Road — Tiyu East Road — Tianhe North Road. Slow bus, watching the scenery.

When not in a hurry, buses beat the subway.

Mind empties, thoughts drift. You can think about anything—or nothing. Just watch streetscapes scroll by.

I took this same route in April 2023.

Back then, it was the humid season—everything damp, windows fogged, street scenes blurred. This time: clear skies, sunlight pouring through the glass.

Another kind of completeness.

Guangzhou Avenue South: Dunhe, Kecun Overpass, Guangzhou Bridge North.

Classic segments of Bus 230. Towers and village houses intertwine—cross one bridge, and beside you is an urban village entrance. Mashup: always Guangzhou‘s底色.

Huacheng Avenue—arrived.

The heart of Zhujiang New Town. Huacheng Square, Guangzhou Opera House, East and West Towers… through the bus window, the city‘s modern名片. After the 2010 Asian Games, this became the city’s new axis. Sunny day: glass facades glinting, the whole road aglow.

Xiancun Road: stretching north from Zhujiang New Town.

Xingsheng Road lined with restaurants. Xiancun Village, one of Guangzhou‘s largest urban villages, still undergoing renewal. One side: international街区; the other: old Guangzhou’s texture—just a street apart.

Tiyu East Road—the sports center beside it.

Host to the 6th National Games, 9th National Games, Asian Games…见证ing many of China‘s sporting highlights. Tianhe North Road: CITIC Plaza once Guangzhou’s tallest. This area is the old‑school CBD—less shiny than Zhujiang New Town, but more human.

SCUT‘s main gate—arrived. Bus 230’s terminus is “SCUT Main Station”. April: campus damp, bauhinia petals rain‑beaten. September: sunlight filtering through leaves, warming the red‑brick buildings.

Where do we begin to understand a city?

With its sunny days—glass facades on Huacheng Avenue, traffic flows on Tianhe North Road.
With its rainy days—April‘s mist, endlessly wiped windowpanes.

Same route, two weathers, two Guangs.

2023年9月18日，广州。天气晴朗。从叠景路去华南理工大学五山校区。线路：广州大道南—花城大道—冼村路—体育东路—天河北路。公交车慢慢开，一路看风景。

如果不赶时间，坐公交车比地铁有意思得多。

大脑可以放空，任意识随意流淌。你可以想任何事，也可以什么都不想，只是看一幕幕街景从眼前划过。

这条路，2023年4月走过一次。当时是回南天，到处湿漉漉的。车窗起雾，街景朦胧。这一次，晴空万里，阳光透过玻璃洒进来，一切都清清楚楚。也算是另一种圆满吧。

广州大道南，敦和、客村立交、广州大桥北。

这是230路公交的经典路段。高楼和村屋交错，刚过一座天桥，旁边就是城中村的巷口。混搭，一直是广州的底色。

花城大道，到了。

珠江新城的核心区。花城广场、广州大剧院、东塔西塔……车窗外的天际线，是广州现代化的名片。2010年亚运会后，这里成了城市新中轴。晴日里，玻璃幕墙反着光，整条路都在发光。

冼村路，从珠江新城向北延伸。

路边是兴盛路风情街，餐馆林立。冼村，广州最大的城中村之一，还在改造中。一边是国际化的街区，一边是老广州的肌理，它们只隔一条马路。

体育东路，体育中心就在旁边。

六运会、九运会、亚运会……这里见证了中国体育的许多高光时刻。天河北路，中信广场矗立，曾经是广州第一高楼。这一带是老牌CBD，没有珠江新城那么新，但更有人味。

天河北路往东，拐进五山路。华工大正门，到了。230路的终点站就是“华工大总站”。4月来时，校园里湿漉漉的，紫荆花被雨打落一地。9月再来，阳光穿过树叶，洒在红砖楼上。

我们从何处开始了解一座城市？

从它的晴天开始——从花城大道的玻璃幕墙，从天河北路的人流车流。
也从它的雨天开始——从四月回南天的雾气蒙蒙，从车窗上怎么也擦不干的水珠。
同一条路，两种天气，两样广州。
