『 재외동포 문학과 정체성: 중국조선족문학의 전사-재'만주' 조선인 문학 – 재만주 조선인 문학의 형성, 주요 작가, 조선반도 문학과의 차이·특수성 』 2주차 1차시 강의입니다.

✔ Lecture Introduction
We map how Manchurian Joseonin literature emerged under shifting Japanese policies in the Northeast, then track the rise of literary circles, journals, and readerships that seeded later Joseonjok literature. Endogenous factors within migrant communities and exogenous inflows of established writers converged around Bukhyanghoe, Bukhyang, and Manseon Ilbo, producing a field distinct from peninsula literature.

This session: Formation, Key Writers, Differences from Peninsula Literature
• Policy background and phases
– 1907–1931 Control and utilization: Tonggambu outposts in Gando; surveillance; divide-and-control via pro-Japanese Korean bodies.
– 1931–1937 Control and stabilization: after 9.18; settlement policies, collective villages, multiple rounds of pacification.
– Late 1930s Control and militarization: intensified kōminka, name changes, shrine rites; enforcing imperial subjecthood while promoting Manchukuo’s Five Races in Harmony.
• Field formation conditions
– Endogenous: half-century of migration by 1932; dense Korean populations in Yanbian; schools, churches, newspapers; living oral culture enabling literary taste and practice.
– Exogenous: inflow of writers to Yongjeong and Xinjing seeking relatively freer Korean-language venues; consolidation around new outlets.
• Organizations and media
– Bukhyanghoe launched in Yongjeong, 1932; literary magazine Bukhyang, Oct 1935.
– Gando Ilbo and Manmong Ilbo merged into Manseon Ilbo in 1937, becoming the key Korean-language daily through 1945.

– Yeom Sang-seop, An Su-gil, Kang Kyeong-ae, Baek Seok, Park Young-jun, Kim Chang-geol, Ri Uk; anthologies such as Ssak-teuneun Daeji; An Su-gil’s Bukwon and later Bukhyangbo.

– Manchukuo specificity: a puppet state with statehood form enabling Korean-language print spaces under a different ideological frame.

일제의 동북 지배정책 변화 속에서 재만주 조선인 문학이 어떻게 태동했는지를 정리하고, 북향회·『북향』·『만선일보』를 중심으로 형성된 문학 동인·매체·독자층이 훗날 조선족 문학의 토대가 되는 과정을 살핍니다. 이주 공동체 내부의 자생 조건과 외부 문인의 유입이 교차하며 조선반도 문학과 다른 경로를 만들었습니다.
