I wake up in a hotel, not fully sure where I am.
If you travel a lot, you know that feeling.
This is a real same-day business trip in Japan—
hotel breakfast, trains, walking, and catching the last Shinkansen.
Breakfast is a Japanese-style buffet.
Small plates, many choices, and yes… curry rice with a raw egg.
It came from India, through the UK, and became Japanese soul food.
I eat a lot in the morning for health,
focus on protein, and even eat natto.
Do you eat natto—or is that a hard no?
After work, I race against time.
I book a Shinkansen that leaves 5 minutes after my local train arrives.
Is that enough time to buy dinner?
Today’s bento cost ¥1,383 (about $9)
and was bought at Nagoya Station—
so I guess it’s the most “Nagoya-style” option.
Miso katsu, shrimp fry, rice, vegetables, everything packed in one box.
Peak Japanese bento energy.
In Japan, bullet trains stop exactly at midnight.
Even delays don’t change that. Maintenance comes first.
Some people run to catch the last train.
Running before bed—maybe that’s one reason Japan has fewer overweight people.
What part of this day felt familiar to you?
And what felt completely different?
