The babies have graduated to fruit and have been moved from the nursery to the middle cages. They adore watermelon and banana but aren't too fussed on the apple till all the favoured fruit has been eaten.
The bananas are in cages and they have to lick them out. This takes longer, is more interactive, and makes them eat small quantities so they don't have chunks of it in their bellies, causing potential bowel obstructions. The watermelon helps keep them hydrated preventing obstructions.
Filmed at the Tolga Bat Hospital in Atherton, Far North Queensland. This hospital has no government funding - it is run on donations by volunteers. Visit the website to see more of the work done there.
