Toof part 6; juvenile flying-fox in care days 4 and 5.

Описание: Little Toof came into my care when he was rescued by the rescue van driver who needed a destination for the little guy. He's a 14 week old Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who has smacked his head and knocked himself silly.
He was worryingly quiet, and on the first night he passed about 7 large worms; I always worry when they start passing worms; I worry that the worms are decamping a sinking ship (abandoning a dying batty).
But this little guy is a survivor and has come through days of severe concussion, and has started moving around and interacting.

Over days 3 and 4 he has started to become more interactive; his eyes are a little more alert, and he's taking more nourishment, but still not self feeding.
I took him for an X-Ray, and we found nothing which would explain his leg weakness; but he's still improving and moving around; he's a bit wonky but he's greatly improved from his initial presentation.

Here on day 5 he's slightly more interactive and able to hang for a while, and shows interest in self feeding (but no real skill).
I loved that he was interested in the fruit and juice in the ladle.

His name, Toof, is that of a woodland sprite, and it just kind of suited him; I hope it encourages him to be mischievous and magical.

Tolga Bat Hospital takes donations for our batties. Tolga is an awesome place in Far North Queensland, which has charity status. By sending donations to them, they get a percentage (and deserve every cent) and they can allocate money to me for batty expenses without it becoming part of my income stream (which makes tax time difficult).
