How to Make Cherry Clafoutis | Baked French Desserts

Cherry season is almost here and cherries are by far one of my favorite stone fruits. Cherry Clafoutis is a classic French dessert that is so easy to make. Clafoutis is basically a baked custard tart. You can use cherries, but other fruits like blueberries can be used instead. Baked French Desserts can sometimes be complex. Learn how to make Cherry Clafoutis in this easy to follow video.
INGREDIENTS
You will need about 1 pound of fresh cherries, washed and pitted - enough to cover the bottom of a 9 " round pan.
3/4 cup All purpose flour
1/4 tsp. fine salt
11/4 cup Whole Milk
3/4 cup Heavy cream
2 whole eggs
2 egg yolks
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tbsp. Kirsch ( cherry liquor)
Kirsch can be substituted with almond and vanilla extract - 1 tsp each
Bake in pre heated oven at 350 F - for about 40 minutes - the Clafoutis is done when golden around edges and settled in the center.
This dessert tastes best served chilled or at room temperature - but NOT warm. The cherries will have a sweeter tastes after they have cooled down completely. Clafoutis will last for several days in the refrigerator.
