The hips are one of the most discussed and often misunderstood areas in yoga practice.
In this anatomy lecture, we explore the relationship between stability and mobility in the hips, and why many modern bodies struggle with stiffness despite appearing “stable.”
For most people, the hips are not lacking strength — they are lacking movement.
Long periods of sitting, repetitive athletic patterns, and limited range of motion create a cycle of stillness followed by sudden activity. Over time, this leads to tightness, discomfort, and restricted mobility.
