CPKC 247 Westbound Freight Train at Calhoun Rd #2, Brookfield WI

Описание: CP 9820 (AC44CW) and CP 6017 (SD40-2) leads a westbound CPKC freight with KCS 4675 (ES44AC) running mid train DPU. This was filmed at Calhoun Rd #2 in Brookfield WI. While I was touring this crossing, I noticed the Brookfield east block signal down east of me went to red on my side. Meaning a westbound was lined for that track. When I saw this train pass the Wauwatosa cam with its trailing unit, I know it was something worth catching. This was my first ever SD40-2 catch and Im very happy with how it came out. But was quite suprised to see it had a K5HL horn on it. Never seen those on an SD40 before. Speaking of horns, The leading AC44's horn sounded quite odd to me. Its a 3 chime horn but It sounds alot like a 3rd gen K5LA. Im wanting to say that its some kind of K3LA? Which if it is, then Ive never heard one like that before. If anyone knows exactly what that horn was though, feel free to let me know in the comments. This horn was also so loud it acually sort of maxed out my cams microphone. A first for me for sure.

Crossing Info: Signals are owned and maintained by CPKC. The cantilevers and shoulder signals behind them were installed in early 2022 as add ones while the median signals were installed in 2015, Replacing Safetran signals from the mid 80s likely. The bells ring until the gates start rising. And the signals have seen no changes so far. This crossing is a horn zone. DOT number is: 390-520H
