A single leader freight with KCS SD70ACe #4135 working hard on the #1 Main. This was filmed at Juneau Blvd in Elm Grove WI. Always nice to see another ACe run on this line. I especially enjoy the sound of their 2 stroke V16 diesel engines running at notch 8 RPM and this one certainly did not disappoint. As you can see, the crossing signals here and at Watertown Plank Rd decided to play Pilgrim Rd #1 and North Ave and activate over a minute before the train even hit the crossing. this train was running only at 25 MPH so I don't know why their speed predictor's decided to trigger the signals right as the train entered their approach circuits. That's the thing with Juneau and Plank, Sometimes they activate when the trains about 30 seconds away, and sometimes a minute like here. these signals are really unpredictable.
Crossing Info: Signals are owned and maintained by CPKC. They were installed sometime in the early 2000s. The bell rings until the gates fully lower. And the signals have seen changes to its lights, bell and the gate striping. This crossing is a quiet zone. DOT number is: 390-514E
