Controversy escalates at Pattamundai police station (Kendrapara district) as PCCF (Principal Chief Conservator of Forests) has written to the DGP seeking departmental action against IIC Bandana Patra. Earlier, the Special Secretary of Forest Department had complained to the IG, Central Range. The dispute arose during interrogation of 3 accused arrested in an illegal kattha (bajrakapta kathi) smuggling case. IIC allegedly misbehaved with ACF Gagan Mallick, questioned why arrests were made without consulting police, threatened to implicate him in false cases, and created tension. Following ACF’s complaint, demands for strict action against IIC have intensified, prompting higher-level intervention from forest authorities.
