How to Use the Previous Button in Lightroom - This is a handy tool to apply the same develop settings that you applied to the last photo you edited to a new photo. So whatever you did to the previous photo you were working on will be done to the next photo you select when you hit that button. You're pasting the settings from one image to the next image you select. Note that it doesn't need to be a consecutive image, it can be any image in the filmstrip.

It's very helpful when you have shot several images with the same camera settings in the same lighting.

You'll find the button at the lower right of the screen in the Develop module below the adjustment panels.

Using the Previous button is a quick way to edit a second photo exactly like the first one and a great way to cut down on your editing time.

Tip: It's best used when making global adjustments, not local adjustments because you may get unintended results. If you do any cropping or local adjustments to your first image, those same adjustments may not be applicable to the second image.

The Previous button works with one image. If you want to apply the same edits to a group of images, you can use the Sync button. If the previous button is missing you probably have selected more than one photo. It changes from Previous to Sync when you have multiple photos selected.
