In this presentation, Professor Schuwirth provides an outline of a program of assessment that has been implemented at the University of Maastricht in the Netherlands. Professor Schuwirth explains the differences between assessments in traditional medical education programs and assessments in the University of Maastricht program, and the underlying principles on which the University of Maastricht program is based.
