Happy Saturday, and welcome back to our channe,l where we hope to inspire you with song. Today’s tune, “Blowin’ in the Wind,” was recorded by Peter, Paul & Mary back in 1963, a year after Bob Dylan composed it. The song is widely regarded as one of Dylan’s greatest and a number that PP&M turned into a classic hit.
Our humble trio of Jackie on lead and harmony vocals, Pastor John adding harmony vocals, and me on bass, pays homage to this civil rights anthem based on an African-American spiritual melody. The lyrics question the necessity of war, racism, and human suffering, while admitting that the solutions are obvious and all around us, yet simultaneously, humanity refuses to see or grasp them.
Through the teachings of Jesus, however, man can begin to accept those same solutions and become more like God’s image. See you the first weekend of March with new music that promises to inspire. Blessings to all!
