Being it’s a day after All Souls’ Day, one of prayer and remembrance for the souls of the faithfully departed, we thought this song, “Everybody Hurts,” serves as a thoughtful reminder that we all hurt when someone departs their earthly body, those of us who were touched by this person’s life feel the sadness, both pain and happiness, and even the empowerment to push forward.

We hope you find something uplifting from what seems, at the surface, to be a rather melancholic song. If you listen to the lyrics, sung beautifully by Jackie, we think you’ll take away the original intent from REM, a Georgia-based 90’s alternative group, to save the lives of our youth, who fight each day with understanding the world around them.
