Being late-diagnosed as neurodivergent can feel like waking up to a new kind of marginalization—especially if you’ve already faced other systemic barriers. Many of us internalize bias and stigma, believing we’re the problem instead of recognizing how society itself isn’t built for us.
In this episode we unpack how systemic oppression impacts late-diagnosed neurodivergents. We’ll explore:
✨ How hierarchies, capitalism, and colonialism shaped modern forms of bias
✨ Why internalized oppression looks like self-blame and fawning responses
✨ The role of intersectionality in privilege, power, and marginalization
✨ Why community and safe connection are essential for healing trauma
✨ And how to start seeing your struggles as systemic, not personal failure
This is part of a trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming series designed to help late-diagnosed adults understand how bias, history, and hierarchy affect our mental health and sense of belonging.
