With it's FRA mandated 1472-day Inspection on the horizon, the weekend of November 1st would mark 630's last one for now, as its boiler time is set to expire. With no confirmation of work on 630 after it goes down, railfans from all around flocked to see the powerful Consolidation type on a duty it has served for the past 14 years: The Missionary Ridge Local. With only 2 cars behind the ex. Southern Railway 2-8-0 type, the VS&W 3 chime would echo throughout the Tennessee Valley one last time for 2025.
