On the first weekend of November 2025, I paid a visit to the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. During that weekend, both of their prized Southern Railway steam locomotives - #630 and #4501 - were in operation.
We first look at Saturday's action, focusing on 630 with the Missionary Ridge Local to East Chattanooga and back. Then, on Sunday, we'll follow 630 and 4501 on a Summerville Steam Special doubleheader!
The weekend was a little somber, though, as this was 630's final weekend of operation before her 15 year boiler certification expired at the end of the year. The TVRM crew still put on a fantastic show and we hope it won't be long until 630 steams again!
