Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) regularly exhibit motor and cognitive function deficits. Peter Feys, PhD, Hasselt University, Hasselt, Belgium, describes the impact of cognitive-motor interference on the simultaneous performance of motor and cognitive tasks. When people have reduced attention spans, it is observed that they also have differences in their walking patterns. Alternatively, if patients have motor problems, they have to focus more on walking safely. If they have cognitive impairment, keeping their attention on the walking pattern is an issue. This interview took place at the European Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis (ECTRIMS) Congress 2022 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
