In this video, I walk through how I help a wild BLM burro learn to stand quietly for hoof handling and farrier work. With animals that haven’t been handled much (or at all), forcing the issue only creates more brace and fear. Instead, I focus on groundwork, emotional regulation, and helping them feel safe enough to try.

Most problems at the farrier appointment don’t start at the farrier appointment — they start in the daily handling.
