The quote in the title was etched above the entrance to the Baha'i Temple in Chicago, Illinois - as well many other quotes that are apt for a world that has become so divided, dysfunctional and delusional with greed and power - moving further and further away from nature.
There was another quote etched into an alcove - "All the prophets of God proclaim the same faith".
Another - "Religion is a radiant light and an impregnable stronghold".
Humanity eschewed religion in the name of rational science as the modern-techno-industrial age dawned in the 18th century - but judging from the diversity of people visiting the Chicago temple on a cold blustery day - religion has not really left humanity.
I do not endorse the institutionalization of religion, the separation and the violence it has perpetuated in the hands of manipulative - mostly nasty men in greed for power and control.
I do realize that the human being needs spiritual grounding in an impermanent, uncertain life of suffering and to ponder on what happens after our mortal life and religion serves this purpose.
Baha'i faith is grounded on sound spiritual principles of love, unity, faith while being comfortable with the vagaries and the mysteries of life.
It is a unique personal practice of prayer and meditation bringing the MindBody together in harmony with nature and the universe.
We have many Baha'i friends who are beautiful people with open hearts and minds who are spreading the love - very much aligned with my own spiritual practice grounded on Buddhist teachings.
