Painting an acacia seedpod in watercolour

This is a little painting of a Wattle (Acacia) seedpod. I had already painted the Acacia for one of my online tutorials and decided to add the seedpod to tell more of the story of the plant, and to add a little more interest and colour to the artwork. I am not using a lot of water in this painting because I didn't want the paper to buckle as I didn't want to have to stretch it again (if you're not sure about stretching watercolour paper I have a video on that).
Rather than using brown paint straight from a tube, I'm mixing the browns using (Winsor brand) Winsor Yellow, Permanent Rose and French Ultramarine watercolours.
