In this Physics video lecture in Hindi we derived the expression for the torque applied on a rectangular loop placed in a constant magnetic field. We found that the torque is equal to the cross product of the magnetic dipole moment of the current carrying rectangular loop and the magnetic field. In scalar form we can say the the magnitude of the torque is equal to the product of the current through that loop, the area of that loop, the magnitude of the magnetic field and the sine of the angle between the area vector of the rectangular loop and the magnetic field.
