Описание: In this Physics video tutorial in Hindi we derived the equation for torque on an electric dipole placed in a constant electric field. The torque is equal to the cross product of the electric dipole moment and the electric field. During the derivation we found that an electrostatic force is applied on the positive charge of the dipole in the direction of the electric field and a force of equal magnitude is applied on the negative charge in opposite direction. Hence there created is a torque which is equal to the magnitude of any of the forces times the perpendicular distance between the forces and we found that the magnitude of the forces are equal to the product of the magnitude of the electric field times the magnitude of the charge.
