Running Wild in Cumbria! 🏞️ | Penrith Parkrun POV Experience

Описание: This week's parkrun story comes from Penrith. It's a great multi-terrain run and pretty much flat too - it's easily one of the flatter runs I have done.

I've ran this course a few times, but always seemed to do it when either I hadn't been running for a while or I was returning from an injury, so it was great to do it fully fit - or fit for me, anyway. The route is fairly simple to follow, it's two laps of the sport field with a few added extras. The paths do get a little narrow in certain parts with no easy places to overtake so if you're looking for a fast time it's certainly worth keeping this in mind. It's also across a few terrains such as grass, pavement and gravel, so it might be a little more challenging in bad weather. There is parking nearby, but it can get slightly busy, so it might be an idea to arrive early like I did. I should add too, there are no dogs allowed at this parkrun. One more thing to add, it's slightly more than 5k, which threw me a little.

Anyway, about the race I felt quicker today and managed a location PB, 25:03, which was great but Ifinished outside of the top ten for my age range - I don't know why this means so much to me, really I don't!! All in all though it's a great course to do, so I'd massively recommend as it is flat, the atmosphere is fun and it's very friendly!

A little about me. I have been running, or taking it seriously, for about 18 months now. The aim really was to aid with my mental health and I must admit I am loving it. Since turning 40 I have found myself doing more Parkruns, more medal races and more walks so I decided to buy a GoPro, along with a Garmin watch, and record them and make them into a YouTube video(s). I don't plan to commentate on them, it's more to give folk an idea of what the course is like beforehand. Hopefully, these videos will also give you some parkrun ideas.
