This week's parkrun story comes from Roberts Park, in Saltaire. It's a great run with only a few incline parts - it's one of the flatter ones I have done to be honest and well worth trying out.
This was my first time at the course and I actual discovered it by accident whilst doing another race event. There's lots of volunteers, who are awesome, as the route is a little tricky - well, if you read about it and/or hear the briefing it sounds more complicated that it is. Unless you plan on winning it, then just follow the pack... that was my gameplan. One thing to note is that there's a few tight corners in bits so it can bottle neck a little so just check your surroundings - this was mainly at the start but there were a few other stages through the race which you might be able to pick up on the video.
There's a parking area nearby called the Shipley Glen Tramway Car Park, if you get there early then you should be able to get a spot. I arrived at 8:20 and there were plenty of spaces. Failing that there is street parking nearby. There's also a few coffee places, one of which is just underneath where you start the race which is handy.
Anyway, about the race I felt pretty good today and was hoping, niavely, for a parkrun PB but I fell quite the bit short with a time of 25:19. I think the third km is what got me the most, for some reason it usually does and I am not sure why. Anyone else find this happen to them? All in all though it's a great course to do, so I'd massively recommend.

A little about me. I have been running, or taking it seriously, for about 18 months now. The aim really was to aid with my mental health and I must admit I am loving it. Since turning 40 I have found myself doing more Parkruns, more medal races and more walks so I decided to buy a GoPro, along with a Garmin watch, and record them and make them into a YouTube video(s). I don't plan to commentate on them, it's more to give folk an idea of what the course is like beforehand. Hopefully, these videos will also give you some parkrun ideas.
