Parkrun Doesn’t Get More Beautiful Than This | Fountains Abbey Parkrun POV Experience

Описание: I must say this is a beautiful run and a great parkrun experience, probably one of the most scenic ones I have done - granted, there are LOTS of parkruns but I don't think I am alone.

Set in Yorkshire, Fountains Abbey is part of the National Trust. The run is a a two lap course with the first taking you around the Abbey itself and by the Half Moon Pond. The second is slightly longer and takes you further past the Water Garden crossing the narrow foot bridge in front of the lake - do take care crossing this and allow yourself plenty of room.

The course is fairly flat but with a few inclines, especially as you finish the first lap. It's a beautiful run though, this was my third time being here and won't be my last! The video is a full runners POV, slightly sped up so you get a good idea of the course. I managed it in a time of 24:56, just short of a location PB but I'll take it.

There is free parking, but this is situated in the overflow carpark and is a bit of a walk (roughly 15 mins) from the start line. There's facilities onsite too and a nice cafe to grab a brew afterwards. PLUS, if you're super fit then you can even check out the Seven Bridges Circular too - I'll post about that later.

A little about me. I have been running, or taking it seriously, for about 18 months now. The aim really was to aid with my mental health and I must admit I am loving it. Since turning 40 I have found myself doing more Parkruns, more medal races and more walks so I decided to buy a GoPro, along with a Garmin watch, and record them and make them into a YouTube video(s). I don't plan to commentate on them, it's more to give folk an idea of what the course is like beforehand. Hopefully, these videos will also give you some parkrun ideas.
