Prawns with Potatoes | Parsi Kanda Papeta ma kolmi recipe

This is a simple prawn recipe with onions and potatoes. We call it Kanda Papeta ma Kolmi.
It goes well with rotis or bread or even with dal chawal.
Ingredients
500 gms prawns - peeled, deveined and washed
1 and 3/4 tea spoon salt
3/4 tea spoon turmeirc powder
2 table spoons lime or lemon juice
2 large onions sliced
2 large potatoes thinly sliced
2 green chilled finely chopped
1 medium tomato chopped
1 tea spoon ginger garlic paste
1 tea spoon kashmiri chilli powder
1/2 tea spoon coriander powder
1/2 tea spoon cumin powder
2 table spoons fresh chopped coriander leaves
Method
Peel, devein and wash the prawns and marinate them with 3/4 tea spoon salt, 1/2 tea spoon turmeric powder and 2 table spoons lemon juice. Keep aside
Place a deep pan on medium high heat and add 5 table spoons oil
Add 2 large onions thinly sliced to this and fry for 3 to 4 minutes until translucent
Add to this the thinly sliced potatoes and fry for another 2 to 3 minutes
Add 1 tea spoon ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 minute
Add 2 finely chopped green chilles and fry for another minute
Add 1 tea spoon kashmiri chilli powder, 1/2 tea spoon coriander powder,
1/2 tea spoon cumin powder, 1 tea spoon salt, 1/4 tea spoon turmeirc powder and cook everything for 3 to 4 minutes
Add 1 medium tomato chopped and stir everything together
Cover and cook for 7 to 8 minutes on medium low
Open and check if the potatoes are nearly cooked
Add the prawns to this and gently stir
Cover and cook for another 5 to 6 minutes on medium low heat
Open and give a gently stir
The prawns and potatoes should be coked by now
Garnish with 2 table spoon of fresh chopped coriander leaves and remove from heat
