The day started off with a call for a 50ft Cruisers Yacht that ran aground down by Turtle Beach. Nothing too surprising about that. There are some narrow areas and it gets really shallow outside the channel. Well, it’s a lot harder to stay in the channel when an important channel marker is missing! Luckily, they weren’t too stuck, and I was able to pull them back to deeper water without any problems. Later that night, I got a call for a 27ft Norsea that ran aground at G15 New Pass. The marker was there, but the guy, like most others that get stuck there, just drifted too far outside the channel and got stuck.
