This is my famous sweet potato pie recipe that’s taken me over five years to perfect. I am pleased to share it with you so that you can share the love and deliciousness with your own families. But please watch this in its entirety as there are important tips and steps and only roast the sweet potatoes as in my video about roasting them for the sweetest, richest tasting flavors. It’s important. I’ve added that video link at bottom. The extra care and time is so worth it!
And this is dedicated to my dear daughter, Kathryn, who loves this pie the best!
Half recipe for only 1 pie
4 medium Roasted sweet potatoes (watch link)
3/4 c melted butter
5 oz can evaporated milk
4 eggs, lightly beaten
2 c sugar
1/4 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
1/8 tsp Allspice
1/8 tsp salt
Dash of cloves
Then 2 Tbsp of butter in addition to other butter
2 - 9” regular pie shells
