Washington remains stuck with time changes

Описание: If you feel like the weekend is already too short, it’s about to get even shorter.

Daylight saving time begins this weekend, with clocks moving forward one hour at 2 a.m. Sunday.

The shift, which happens during the warmer months, is intended to create more evening daylight. Washington state lawmakers passed a law in 2019 to adopt permanent daylight saving time, but the change still requires approval from Congress. That approval has not happened.

Studies have shown that longer days of sunshine can lead to positive health impacts. Steve Calandrillo, a professor of law at the University of Washington, also pointed to research that less daylight can impact the number of traffic fatalities during the evening commute.
