Buses in the Perth CBD during Peak Hour; October 2022 - Transperth

Описание: In this video we visit the Perth CBD during peak hour to do some bus spotting. Perth is Australia's fourth largest city with a population of around 2.3 million, and has an extensive public transport network of trains, buses, and ferries operated under the Transperth banner. Perth's bus network consists of around 295 timetabled routes, 226 school routes, and eight CAT (Central Area Transit) routes with a strong fleet of around 1,690 buses. Transperth buses are contracted out to three different private bus operators;
Path Transit, Swan Transit, and Transdev.

We see plenty of buses at various locations around the Perth CBD. Locations visited include:

13:15 outside Elizabeth Quay station

Despite having such a large fleet buses in Perth are relatively uniform with only a handful of models.

Rigid buses include Mercedes Benz OC500LE CNG's, Volvo B7RLE's, and Volvo B8RLE's with Volgren 'CR228L' and 'Optimus' bodies. At the time of filming the older Mercedes Benz O405NH's (Volgren 'CR225L's) were in storage and while there were some new Volvo BZL electric buses in service, there was only a handful delivered so we don't see any in this video.

Articulated buses consist of the Volvo B12BLE with the Volgren 'CR228L' body and the Volvo B8RLEA with the Volgren 'Optimus' body.
