Brettanomyces (Brett) is a common wine spoilage microorganism that can cause irreversible damage to wines. It is crucial to be able to accurately detect its presence through regular monitoring of populations. Currently there are a number of methods available including traditional plating and rapid molecular techniques. This webinar will discuss the pros and cons of the different methods and will cover interpretation of results, sensitivity limitations and occurrences of false positives/negatives.
