Recipe -
Ingredients:
1. Coriander Leaves/ Dhaniya Patta - as required finely chopped
2. Onion/ Pyaaz - 1 Tablespoon finely chopped (optional)
3. Bengal Gram/ Chana Dal - 1 cup
4. Potato/ Aloo - 1 boiled and mashed
5. Gram Flour/ Besan - 2 Tablespoon
6. Ginger/ Adrak - as per taste grated
7. Garlic/ Lehsun - as per taste grated
8. Mint Leaves/ Pudina Patta - as required finely chopped
9. Salt/ Namak - as per taste
10. Roasted Cumin/ Jeera Powder - as per taste
11. Red Chili/ Laal Mirch Powder - as per taste
12. All Spice Mix/ Garam Masala - as per taste
13. Dry Mango/ Aamchur Powder - as per taste
14. Chaat Masala - as per taste
15. Clarified butter/ Ghee - for greasing
Instructions:
FOR PREPARING BENGAL GRAM-
Soak bengal gram for 5 to 6 hours. Boil them in a pressure cooker for 1 whistle.
Mash the boiled bengal gram gently.
FOR PREPARING THE STUFFING-
1. Take the boiled bengal gram in a bowl and add potato, gram flour, ginger, garlic, mint leaves, coriander leaves, and onion to the bowl.
2. Add salt, roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, dry mango powder, garam masala and chaat masala to the bowl and mix all the ingredients well to make a mixture like a dough.
3. Grease your palms with clarified butter and take a part of the dough mixture and make it into a tikki.
4. Meanwhile heat a pan and grease it with clarified butter and place the tikkis on the pan.
5. Cook the tikkis on low flame and keep flipping them to cook both sides properly. Let it cook until it looks golden brown in colour.
6. Chana Dal Kabab | Protein Rich Kabab is ready to be served.
