Healthy and Simple Garlic Dal Tadka - Vegetarian
Dal is a term originating in the Indian subcontinent for dried, split pulses that do not require soaking before cooking.
Dal is a delicious lentil recipe popular in India that is made with tur dal / toor (pigeon pea lentils), onions, tomatoes and spices. Best served with steamed rice, jeera aloo/ potato roast, pickle and a papad. It is comfort food for me. I make this more like a soup/ or on a runny side.
Toor Dal is also known as Arhar Dal, Peeli Dal or Yellow Dal, this dal / lentil preparation is a must-have in most Indian households. It is healthy and super easy to make and tastes delicious with steamed rice.
High in protein, Dal is considered to be very beneficial if included in your everyday meals.

List of ingredients
1 cup toor tal
1 large onion
1 large tomato
Few curry leaves
¼ cup grated coconut
4 green chillies
10 garlic cloves
Oil as required
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp mustard
¼ methi seeds
1 tsp hing/ asafoetida
Salt as per taste
1 tsp turmeric powder
Chopped coriander leaves
