It’s a snowy Wisconsin Saturday during Thanksgiving weekend ❄️—the garage door opens, and this video shows exactly why having a clean, fun, and accessible home gym makes training so much easier to stay consistent with.
This is Part 1 of 2 of my Thanksgiving Weekend Home Leg Day, where I walk through the entire workout while stopping often to explain proper form, coaching cues, and tips I’ve learned through trial and error.
🏋️ What’s in this workout:
A new core & stability training hack using a wooden dowel and bands
(yes… I accidentally kept calling it a “bando board” 😂)
Why changing stimulus is critical for avoiding plateaus and stagnation
Front squats & belt squats
• Belt squat programmed 3x20 for muscular endurance
• 150 lbs + 20 lb chain for added challenge
Goblet squats with heels elevated on a resin wedge
• Superset with 4-way band walks at the ankle
Overhead squats & trap bar deadlifts (3x10)
Single-leg balance work on the Gibbon slack board (3x 2:00)
Falling Nordic curls on the Rogue bench
Ankle strengthening using a heavy black resistance band
If your gym is easy to access, looks good, and has new tools to keep things exciting, you’re far more likely to use it. Training should be effective—but it should also be fun. That’s how long-term results happen.
This channel is about sharing real lessons learned from multiple major weight-loss phases, personal experience, and years of figuring out what actually works—not just what looks cool online.
