Through 2023–2025, the Talamati and Styx prides in Sabi Sands experienced significant, shifting dynamics, involving interactions with various coalitions. Young Talamati males (offspring of Dark Mane Avoca) were observed attempting to establish dominance or bonding with the Styx pride, while Styx females were also seen mating with the Gijima males, highlighting the fluid nature of pride leadership in the area
Sabi Sand Nature Reserve is South Africa's most prestigious private game reserve, famous for providing the world's best leopard sightings and intimate "Big Five" encounters. Located in the Mpumalanga province, it covers approximately 65,000 hectares and shares a 50km unfenced border with Kruger National Park, allowing wildlife to roam freely between the two.
