The sacroiliac joint (SIJ) is a joint that connects the sacrum (triangular, naturally-fused vertebrae below lumbar) to the ilium (upper part of pelvis). The joint itself has very little motion, and it can be a source of pain and instability, especially for pregnant individuals. Moving the pelvis helps engage surrounding muscles and joints, thus reducing unnecessary stress on the SI joint. Follow along for a few of my favorites for relieving tension from the lumbopelvic region of the body!
